The Fox ESS CQ7 battery system
The CQ7 is a floor-standing stack of 6.96kWh modules — you start with the capacity you need now and add modules later as your household's power use grows. Paired with a matching Fox ESS inverter, it stores your surplus solar the moment you make it and runs the lot from one app.

Start where you need to, grow later
A system starts at 13.92kWh (two modules) and scales up to 97.44kWh in a single stack — up to 14 modules in series. Adding capacity later means adding a module, not replacing the system.

100% usable capacity
Fox ESS rates the CQ7 at 100% depth of discharge with better than 95% round-trip efficiency. In plain terms: you get to use the capacity you paid for, and very little of your stored solar is lost on the way in and out.

The latest models
We install the current-generation CQ7 modules and matching Fox ESS inverters — not older stock being cleared out. You get the specification on the current datasheet, and the warranty that goes with it.

Safe chemistry, quiet, outdoor rated
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells. Natural convection cooling — no fans, so it's silent and there's nothing to wear out. IP65 rated with a built-in fire protection function, and certified to IEC 62619 and UN38.3.

A lot of people have a Fox ESS battery and inverter in good working order, and no working relationship with whoever installed it. Company folded, moved on, stopped answering the phone. It happens constantly.
You don't need to start again. If you already have Fox ESS storage, adding a Fox EV charger turns it into one integrated system — battery, solar and car charging, all managed in the one app, with the charger pulling from your surplus solar instead of the grid. It's the single best addition you can make to a setup you've already paid for.
We'll assess what you've got, tell you honestly whether it's worth adding to, and do the work properly.

We had a charger installed, an Evnex E2 Core for the Atto 2. Superb job, nicely done, even arranged for a plaster hiccup to be fixed same day. Also installed a surge protector in the fuse box to protect all appliances. Both times on time, efficient, good value and great guys, highly recommend.

Fox ESS questions we get asked
How much does a Fox ESS battery installation cost?
It depends on the capacity, your switchboard and where the battery goes, which is why we quote per job rather than publishing a number. The battery quote form is the fastest way to a real figure - it asks the questions we would otherwise have to ask on a site visit, and with photos of the board we can usually price it without coming out first.
Can I start small and add more storage later?
Yes, that is the main reason we like the CQ7. It is modular, so you can begin with the capacity you need now and expand it as the household's power needs grow. We size the first stage against your actual usage and leave the switchboard ready for the second, so adding to it later is not a second upheaval.
How does the battery handle a Melbourne winter?
The CQ7 has an integrated heating function, so the unit keeps operating at peak performance on freezing mornings rather than derating when it is cold. That matters more here than the brochures suggest - a battery that slows down in July is a battery that is not earning.
Can I get the EV charger and the battery together?
Yes, and it is usually the cheaper way to do it. Bundle a Fox EV charger with a new battery and inverter installation and we will put a package price on the lot. One visit, one system, one number.
I already have a Fox battery - can you add a charger?
Yes. We can integrate a Fox EV charger straight into your existing setup so the battery, the inverter and the charger run as one energy ecosystem rather than three things sharing a wall.
Which Fox ESS EV charger do you install?
We fit the L-Series and the A-Series. Which one suits comes down to where the charger is going and how it needs to connect. Charging power, cable length and warranty vary by variant, so we confirm those against the current Fox ESS datasheet when we quote rather than printing a figure that may not match the unit you receive.
Do I have to buy the equipment from you?
No. We are happy to supply and install as one job, or install hardware you have bought yourself. Either way the installation is certified and warranted the same.
